A friend of ours invited us over for a barbecue at her farm, and I caught this photo as we were walking back to her house from the pasture. There’s nothing quite like a crisp autumn evening here in Oklahoma.

A little slice of rural Americana. This is how we roll in small towns when the county fair comes around.

We saw this black and orange fella just hanging out on a cool morning, and my brother had the rather cool idea of giving him some breakfast. He started by digging up a grub worm and dropping it in the web, which the spider promptly encased in silk for a future feast. He also added a cricket and a grasshopper to the insectular smorgasbord (click the photo to see my Flickr gallery, and you can find a picture of the grasshopper) but I like the composition of this photo over some of the others.

My brother was kind enough to let me practice some panning shots while he rode his unicycle around. This was one decent photo out of a couple dozen rather blurry photos :) Even though it took a while, we were both rather pleased with the result.

I was playing with my son underneath a magnolia tree, and happened to glance up and see a bit of sky through a crack in one of the branches.
